CT CONTRAST STUDY

• CT stands for Computed Tomography.
• CT scan are of Two (2) types, namely Plain CT and Contrast CT.
• Plain CT scan is a normal scanning done using imaging technique to create images of the body part under scan.
• Contrast CT scan, one needs to take an external substance by mouth(oral) or by way of injections.
• Contrast studies gives a detailed and clear image of the part of the body that is been examined.
• Before 4 hours, when the scan is going to be performed, one should not eat.
• It takes only about 30–60 minutes to perform the same.
• Contrast CT scans are safe and not painful
